The Sea Shop
By Lacey Young
Illustrated by Bria Block
Callie searches for adventures on the beach of her small seaside town. One day she stumbles upon a piece of sea glass shining in the water and is inspired to search for more. Once she has collected a handful, she has a brilliant idea. She dashes up the beach, climbs over piles of driftwood, and runs through the village to the little mom & pop candy shop. When she has her favorite ice cream cone in hand, she pays for it with something, in her eyes, worth more than money.

About
Lacey Young is a corporate accountant who spends her evenings and weekends beach combing with her family in Birch Bay, Washington. The Sea Shop is her first children’s book and was inspired by her daughter, Callie, and many summer ice cream cones at The (real) C Shop.
Bria Block, an illustrator inspired by the moody palettes of the Pacific Northwest, weaves the beauty of nature with reflections on mental and physical health in her artwork. Outside of her creative pursuits, she finds solace in wandering barefoot, gathering wildflowers by the ocean or along mountain trails, often joined by her husband and son.
